10K Tuesday

In less than two months I am running in my first half marathon.  13.1 miles.  

13.1 long miles.

In June.

In Indiana.

Do you know the kind of humidity that is going to bring?

But I am preparing.

Week by week.

Today I did 6.2 miles (a 10K).  It was a long, slow, painful run.  Normally the big dipper is greeting me when I set out in the wee hours of the morning.  This evening I just felt like I needed to get out.  I wanted to do something.  The kids were tucked in.  Derek is sick in bed.  So, I set out not knowing how far I would end up going.  My body ached, creaked and groaned.  Some days 10 feels great, other days 3 is a struggle.  

Each day gets me one step closer to my goal.

On June 2nd  I will finish this race.  


  1. I am feeling your pain right now! My first Half-Marathon is May 26, and you are so right about how one day you feel great and could just keep on going and other days even 3 miles is a mess! Good Luck...Keep up the hard work and training!
